Dear Mark,

I have just finished your book detailing your 'End to End walk in 2003. I did the walk in 2014 and did the same total mileage 1111.

Include in my route was 'The Heart of England Way' (lots of canals) and the alterative Penine Way from Ashbourne to Jedburgh.

Best bit? West Highland Way (scorching hot) and a day on the A9 from Helmsdale to Dunbeath when after wondering when I was going to be murdered by a lorry an accident closed the road (no one hurt) and I had 16 miles of traffic free walking!

I do wonder which one of us drank the most beer!

You lucky bas**rd!

I've never walked so fast for so long in my life.

Would you attempt LEJOG again?

Fantastic stuff, Richard - congratulations on joining the club! And can I say that's an excellent number of miles - obviously the best walkers take exactly 1111 miles. 😉

As for the beer... I can't remember. Which says a lot...

Best wishes,

Mark
