Subject: South Island

Came upon your wonderful writing and photos whilst browsing in Google. Had a great trip to the North Island a few years back 'free camping' with the family, and we were toying with the idea of doing the same in the South Island, although the sandflies sound ominous. The Northland New Zealnders we met on our trip were incredibly friendly.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, both here and in New Zealand. If you do get a chance to go back to see the South Island, I highly recommend it; the sandflies might be legendary, but the beauty of the landscape and the friendliness of the locals more than makes up for it! 😀
